Comments on the new blog are now officially open. I’ve decided to use the new-ish Muut instead of more traditional options like Disqus. Comments in Muut are immutable after a short (~2 minute) grace period or as soon as there is a reply. Moderators (i.e. me!) can delete comments but cannot otherwise change them. So think before you type and think again before you click “post”!

I agree with the folks at Muut at this type of immutability is valuable for discussion – good science is open science and part of being open is recording everything you tried. You are free to change your mind, but it should always be possible to view how the discussion got to its final state.

Please note: an unfortunate necessity of trying to keep a permanent record of discussions is that comments are posted under a relatively scary-sounding license.
